Community Thanksgiving Eve Service, Wed., 11/27, 7:00 p.m.  As in the past couple of years, we will be worshiping with our friends from Community of Christ Lutheran Church, but this year Hope UMC is participating as well!  The service will be held here at Zion; Hope’s Pastor Warren Clifton, a newcomer to our community, will be preaching. The free-will offering will benefit our Food Pantry.

Hanging of the Greens, Sat., 11/30, 9:30 a.m.  Join us for the fun of preparing to celebrate Jesus’ birth at Christmas by decorating the sanctuary and other areas in the church with greenery, the Advent wreath and our treasured hand-made Nativity scene.  (Check out our newsletter to learn about the symbolism of the greens.)  Everyone is invited to come and help prepare the church for Christ’s birthday!

Thursday Evening Bible Study, 12/5-19, 6:30 p.m.: Our next Bible Study will feature the video study “Light of the World” by Amy-Jill Levine. As we move through Advent in preparation for Christmas, this study will help us more fully understand the connections between the Christmas stories, the Old Testament, and the Jewish world in which they took place. You can learn more about the study at here.  No book is required. Sign up on the form in the narthex or email Pastor Carol if you’d like to participate. Can’t come to every meeting?  Come when you can!

1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, 10 a.m. – noon: Food Pantry.   Open to all Anthony Wayne School District residents.  Doors open at 9:30 for coffee and conversation.
